3:30 LYNDA WATSON’S PRESENTATION on her TRIP to CHINA
Featured Artist Lynda Watson will give a talk and slide presentation on her recent trip to China. It was an amazing experience and you will enjoy seeing metal art.
“After a trip to Southeastern China in 2008, Mary Hu was invited the Chinese government to bring 10 professional metalsmiths/jewelers to China for the purpose of observing, advising, and showing work to students and faculty at Chinese University metals programs.
We were also there to study Maio jewelry and costume in its original, indigenous form and as it was being produced for export as tourist goods. I will show images of the artisans making both fine silver and nickel silver traditional jewelry as well as photos of museum pieces and where the Miao live and work.” -Lynda
DON’T MISS A SINGLE MOMENT!
Thank you to Kim Solana for graciously making the room available for MBMAG on this auspicious day – Chinese New Year.
