A Letter from the Exhibition Organizers
The title and theme of our all member exibit is “Reflections” to be interpreted as you wish.
Monterey Bay Metal Arts Guild (MBMAG) has been invited to exhibit at the Pajaro Valley Arts (PVArts) in Watsonville, CA.
Although it is not required, we encourage you to submit narrative or story-telling work.
Reflections 1. (of a surface or body) throw back (heat, light, or sound) without absorbing it. 2. Think deeply or carefully about.
Common synonyms of reflect are: cogitate, deliberate, reason, speculate, and think. While all these words mean “to use one’s powers of conception, judgment, or inference,” reflect suggests unhurried consideration of something recalled to the mind.
Some ideas for your conception could be a collection that you have gathered such as feathers, shells, photos, et cetera. It could also be a scene or a place you have visited.
This has been a time of reflection for us all and we would like you to tell the viewer your story. An educational component is required by PVArts and to meet this requirement a short story of your concept will accompany the work.
We will accept up to three metal art pieces. Sculpture is encouraged. Sculpture submissions will require dimensions be provided upon submission so we can accommodate your artwork with pedestals or cases.
Your artwork which is on exhibit must stay until the end of the exhibit, even if it sells during the exhibition. Pajaro Valley Arts will coordinate with the purchaser to receive any sold artwork that is in the exhibition.
As well as exhibiting three pieces you will be able to submit up to 5 metal art pieces for the Pajaro Valley Arts gallery gift shop. These pieces can be replaced if they sell.
This promises to be an exciting exhibit and at long last, an opportunity to show your work. Our last all member exhibition and sale at PVArts in 2017 was successful and well received.
